Richard Lawrence Miller
BMCS United States Navy
Reserves Ret.

It is with much sadness and sorrow that I must announce the passing of our dear friend, Richard Lawrence Miller, born October 26th, 1950. Richard passed June 29th, 2017, due to complications of open heart transplant surgery. His family members were at his bedside.

Rick, as known by his family and friends, is survived by his wife Anna, his two sons
Rick Miller Richard and Theodore, his daughter Allison, his son-in-law David Burner, his granddaughter Penelope and grandson Seth. Rick is also survived by his younger brother, Jeffrey Miller.

Rick served eight years active service in the United States Navy as a Bosun's Mate (properly spelled boatswain). He retired after 20 years service from the active reserves as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

After his active enlistment, he went back to work as a longshore foreman at Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbors, as he was a card-carrying union member.

Rick loved the harbor, the ocean, and the ships that sailed on the seas that came into port and departed...

He was a loving man and loved his wife and family very much; and, Angel Baseball...

He will be greatly missed by his wife and family, his friends, those who knew and respected him at work, and at church.

'Til we meet again, Dear Friend...
